SDG Café: Sustainable cities and communities

  • Date: 26 October
  • label.tijd 15:00 - 17:00
  • Location: Atrium Vereniging Nederlandse Gemeenten (VNG)

Dear #SDGCafé friends,

It is with great enthusiasm that we invite you to an inspiring #SDGCafé on SDG 11: Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.

This café, made possible by the SDG Café, The Hague Humanity Hub and VNG International, brings us together to explore the challenges and opportunities around sustainable urban development. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) guide our goal of achieving inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities by 2030.

Why is this important?

In a world where more than half the population lives in cities and this number continues to grow, we need to take action. Cities are not only the epicenter of change, but also of opportunity. At the same time, rapid urban growth brings challenges, from environmental problems to social inequality. It is essential that we address these issues and look for solutions that make cities inclusive, sustainable and resilient.

What to expect.

During our café on Oct. 26 in the Atrium of the building of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNG), Nassaulaan 12 in The Hague, we will delve deeper into these issues and explore new perspectives. We will have speakers from leading organizations such as The Hague Humanity Hub and VNG International, talking about issues such as access to justice, legal security and climate change in urban areas.

As befits a good café, there will be ample opportunity to meet and engage in conversation.

Mark the date:
October 26, at 3 p.m. We hope you can be there to add your voice to this important conversation.

We will send out more information about the event soon, including speakers and program. Let's work together to transform cities around the world and make a positive impact on the future of our planet.
